Despite all of the energy and money spent to unearth ancient Egyptian treasures, no one had ever found the tomb of a pharaoh … until now! Through sophisticated computer graphics and dramatic reconstructions, Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs tells the story of one of the greatest finds in modern history, the late 19th century discovery of a cache of 40 mummies, including 12 kings of Egypt, among them the legendary Rameses the Great. And explores the mysterious world of ancient Egypt through the fabric of its mummies, providing a unique window into the fascinating world of its kings.
Armchair adventurers are invited along as the world’s most pre-eminent archeologists and scientists – utilizing today’s cutting-edge technology – piece together the clues provided by Egyptian mummies, not only increasing our understanding of their culture, religion, medicine and daily life thousands of years ago, but garnering insight into modern human genetics and the advancement of contemporary medical treatments.
To unwrap their secrets is, perhaps, a spellbinding glimpse of the future of our own civilization.
Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs is the official film of the hugely popular Tutankhamen and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition currently touring the U.S. and Canada.
Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs is presented in widescreen with an aspect ratio of 16 x 9 (1.78:1).
